These are simply updated models of current Grade 1, Swiss-made Rolex replicas. Don't be tricked by dealers into believing that there is another grade of replicas available on the market, because the Grade 1 replicas are already the best.

Although these new 2008 Swiss-made Rolex Replicas have many new and improved characteristics, the non-upgraded Grade 1 Swiss Replicas are still just like the real thing! The only difference is that the 2008 upgraded models are modeled after 2008 Rolex watches and utilize new and improved manufacturing methods as well as quality control standards for better quality.

To the best of our knowledge, most models have been upgraded to 2008 specifications available in the market. Not all models are carried by all the Grade 1 Swiss Replica dealers on the Internet because of limited availability. Only certain models are carried by certain dealers.

We will first discuss some common upgrades that exist in all models, regardless of their style.

Upgraded 2892/A2-2 31 jewel ETA Movement

The single most important common upgrade shared by 2008 replicas is an all-new, Swiss-made ETA 31-jewel automatic movement. It is a big upgrade from the 27-jewel ETA movements in previous models before 2008. What remains the same is the incredible quality and durability of both automatic movements. However, the 31-jewel movement has more mechanics inside the movement, will sweep even smoother than the 27-jewel movement, will lose less time, and will require less winding between periods of non-usage.

The new ETA 2892 movement is enormously popular because it is deemed accurate and reliable enough to be used as a base movement for many high-end manufacturers compliations. Most changes and updates were done in order to improve the efficiency of the automatic winding. The beat rate has been increased to 28,800 BPH, while the diameter of the movement was reduced from 28mm to 25.6mm so it could be used in a wider range of cases, and hence the change in model number from 2890 to 2892. The thickness remain unchanged however, at 3.6mm. But this had the effect of reducing both the diameter and mass of the oscillating weight, which was fixed in the 2892/A2 model. The 9mm diameter balance is a good compromise between weight and size. A genuine Rolex 3135 has approximately 10mm balances.

So what makes it so special? There are some movements that match it in terms of accuracy and reliability, but none that exceed it. The Rolex 3035 and 3135 match it toe to toe, but they are a lot thicker and considerably more expensive too. There are many other movements that are pretty to look at, but do not match it for accuracy and are more delicate as far as reliability is concerned.

Upgraded Markings and Engravings... plus Laser-Engraved Crown

Just like how Rolex makes slight updates in the markings of their genuine watches, the markings on all 2008 models are updated in the exact same fashion. They all look exactly like a 2008 Rolex model.

But most importantly, the 2008 models now have a laser-engraved Rolex crown on the crystal at the 6 o'clock position. Yes! On the sapphire crystal, just like the 2008 versions! Any dealer who offers you a 2008 model, make sure to ask them for a photo of the laser-engraved crown.

Upgraded Construction Methods

Because each Swiss replica is individually hand-assembled, we have been told that the construction methods used have also been upgraded as well. This usually happens once every few years for the Swiss-made replicas, when the factories do an audit of their current procedures and upgrade them to produce only the finest timepieces. As a matter of fact, many factories worldwide continually upgrade their processes once every few years as well. So this is really no surprise.

Upgraded Luminova Markers

The luminescent glow-in-the-dark markers on previous Grade 1 Swiss-made replicas have been replaced by Luminova Night Illumination, which are the exact same markers used on many new genuine Rolex watches. They glow brighter and longer than regular luminescent markers, and require less time to charge and re-charge under light.

Upgraded Solid 18k Gold Links

On all 2-Tone solid gold models, the hollow center links are created from thicker solid 18k gold than previous models. The thickness of previous models was about 1/8 inches, and has been thickened to approximately 1/7 inches. For those who are wondering if other models will be upgraded as well, our sources have informed us that there are currently no plans to upgrade other models because of the high costs associated with upgrading each model. They are upgrading these models only as a test. Perhaps in the future we might see more models upgraded.
